This hierarchical framework also helps us pinpoint the root causes of operational challenges. For instance, if net income falls short, we assess whether it’s due to poor expense control (Finance Foundation) or low census (Growth Foundation). If a low census is the issue, we then examine whether it stems from customer dissatisfaction (Service Foundation) or inadequate quality of care (Quality Foundation). Ultimately, if either of these factors is at fault, we evaluate whether we have the right people in place (People Foundation).
